The Low-Cost Housing Developers Association of Nigeria (LCHDA) has reaffirmed its commitment to reducing the country’s housing deficit through the creation of affordable, sustainable, and accessible homes.
Speaking in Benin on Wednesday, the association’s President, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeide, said the organisation is working with stakeholders across the housing sector to achieve large-scale impact.
Ogbeide noted that the current housing gap, which affects millions of Nigerians, continues to hinder socio-economic progress. He stressed that addressing the crisis requires broad collaboration rather than isolated efforts.
“The scale of Nigeria’s housing challenge is matched only by the opportunities it presents for collective action. From government agencies to local artisans, financial institutions to traditional rulers, we are inviting every segment of society to bring their expertise and resources,” he said.
According to him, the association has opened its doors to federal, state and local government bodies, industry professionals, and financial institutions to form a nationwide coalition.
Ogbeide described the initiative as a “historic opportunity” to deliver durable, inclusive, and affordable housing while driving long-term socio-economic development.
He added that the LCHDA remains committed to advocacy, collaboration, and capacity building to empower its members and partners in delivering innovative housing solutions.
“Our vision is to transform Nigeria’s housing landscape one partnership at a time, leaving behind a legacy of sustainable homes for generations to come,” Ogbeide stated.
