The Anambra State Executive Council has approved N640.7 million for major infrastructure upgrades and comprehensive environmental reforms. Led by Governor Chukwuma Soludo, the state administration is moving rapidly to address ecological degradation and modernize critical public assets. This targeted capital deployment aims to combat severe erosion threats while simultaneously strengthening civil governance frameworks across the region.

A major portion of the approved budget is dedicated to urgent flood mitigation and road remediation works. Specifically, the state has earmarked N124.7 million for the control of a devastating gully erosion site threatening the structural integrity of the Chisco Oasis Road in Amawbia. This decisive intervention addresses a severe ecological risk that has long disrupted transportation, commerce, and residential safety in the local community.

In addition to environmental protection, the state government is prioritizing institutional modernization. The council approved N516 million for the complete remodeling and furnishing of the Anambra State House of Assembly complex. Executed under the supervision of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, this modernization project is designed to deliver a world-class legislative workspace that enhances administrative efficiency and supports sustainable urban governance.

Beyond structural investments, the Soludo administration has ratified the Anambra State Clean and Green Sustainable Environment Policy. This new legal framework introduces stringent guidelines for waste disposal, urban planning, and environmental stewardship across all local government areas. By combining multi-million naira infrastructure funding with strict policy governance, Anambra State is establishing a scalable model for climate resilience and sustainable infrastructure growth.
