Armed bandits have launched another deadly attack in Kwara State, abducting at least 11 residents—including a pregnant woman—during an invasion of Isapa community near Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area.

The fresh attack took place barely 48 hours after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu announced the rescue of 38 worshippers kidnapped during an earlier assault on CAC Oke-Isegun Church in Eruku, where three people were killed.

According to Tribune Online findings, the latest incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Monday when more than 20 heavily armed bandits stormed Isapa community, firing shots wildly as they moved in with a large herd of cattle.

Witnesses said an elderly woman was struck by a stray bullet as residents fled for safety.

A community leader who spoke anonymously confirmed that 11 persons were abducted, seven of them from the same family. The victims include a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers, and several young children.

The kidnapped individuals have been identified as:

Talatu Kabiru (20)

Magaji (6)

Kande (5)

Hadiza (10)

Mariam (6)

Saima (5)

Habibat (housewife)

Fatima Yusufu (housewife)

Sarah Sunday (22, pregnant woman)

Lami Fidelis (23, nursing mother)

Haja Na Allah (nursing mother)

Residents say the attackers moved through several sections of the town, leaving walls and doors riddled with bullet holes. Dozens of expended AK-47 cartridges were later recovered at the scene.

Police authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.

This latest abduction has intensified fear and frustration among residents, who say they feel increasingly unprotected despite recent rescue operations by security agencies.
