The statement outlined contributions made by individuals, corporate entities, state governments, and non-governmental organizations towards the relief efforts.

Major Donors and Contributions

Among the prominent donors are Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, who pledged N2 billion, with N1 billion designated for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). Other key contributors include Business Mogul Aminu Dantata (N1.5 billion), former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar (N100 million), and Labour Party Presidential candidate Peter Obi (N50 million).

State Governments and Corporate Support

The relief effort also saw donations from various state governments, with Bauchi contributing N250 million, Kebbi N200 million, and Yobe N100 million. Additionally, the North East Development Commission (NEDC) donated N3 billion, alongside non-cash contributions of 20,000 bags of rice, 20,000 cartons of macaroni, and 10,000 gallons of vegetable oil.

Other non-cash donations came from Sumal Food Group in Ibadan, which donated 50,000 loaves of bread and 5,000 cartons of biscuits, while General Buba Marwa (Rtd) provided 10 truckloads of fertilizer worth N120 million.

Non-Cash Donations Summary

The National Agency for the Great Green Wall, for example, provided 80 bags of rice, 30 cartons of macaroni, and various household goods to assist the flood victims.

Governor Zulum concluded by thanking all contributors and emphasized the need for continued support to help Maiduguri recover from the disaster.
