A bold wave is reshaping Ghana’s high-end real estate market, and at its crest is The Buckhead an exclusive collection of luxury townhomes nestled in the prestigious Cantonments area of Accra.

Designed for a new generation of globally mobile Africans, The Buckhead isn’t just a place to live it’s a lifestyle statement.

Its target residents are rarely stationary. They might spend weeks in New York, quarters in London, or bounce between Lagos, Abidjan, and Accra. These are high-level thinkers, movers, and doers entrepreneurs, creatives, diplomats, consultants—individuals who see home not as a single address but as a network of purposeful spaces.

AIHS 2025

Behind this shift is Libi Homes, a visionary Ghanaian developer committed to pushing boundaries. Their earlier developments like The Milton, a striking twin-tower apartment project, shook the industry with its ambition and execution. Then came Libi Prime, a tranquil gated estate near Tema, offering 2 to 4-bedroom luxury homes. Now, with The Buckhead, the brand makes its boldest move yet—setting a new standard for elegance, space, and exclusivity.

But Libi Homes isn’t thinking locally alone. Their reach now extends to the U.S. with Libi Custom Homes Atlanta, seamlessly blending African craftsmanship with global design standards. It’s more than just real estate—it’s about anchoring identity and excellence across continents.

The Buckhead stands out not just for its architecture but for who it’s built to serve. This isn’t mass-market housing—it’s a curated enclave for those who have conquered life’s big stages and now want a home that reflects their success. Each of the 5-bedroom townhomes sits within Accra’s most coveted neighborhood, just minutes from the airport, major embassies, elite schools, world-class hospitals, and fine-dining hotspots. Whether you’re a globe-trotting executive or a retired statesman, everything you need is within reach including serenity.

Golf courses, beaches, nightlife, shopping malls nothing is out of bounds. And yet, residents won’t have to sacrifice convenience for luxury. Daily commutes, school runs, social evenings, or business meetings all remain seamless.

The Buckhead is not just about beautiful homes. It’s a call to elevate expectations in Ghana’s real estate sector. With top-tier property management, unmatched design, and a commitment to excellence, Libi Homes is proving that true luxury can thrive in West Africa.

In a market long overdue for refined, intentional living spaces, The Buckhead marks the arrival of something rare: a development built for those who’ve already made their mark and now want to live like it.

The Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Housing, Bakarat Odunuga-Bakare, revealed that a developer has been jailed for defrauding 133 victims of a total of N25 million under the guise of rental payments.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the 5th Lagos Real Estate Marketplace Conference and Exhibition, Odunuga-Bakare disclosed that the fraudster, identified as Ayobami Abdullahi Oseni from Ajao Estate, had collected money from 133 individuals for the same apartment. The total amount involved in the scam was about N25 million.

Oseni had fled to the United States after committing the crime but was arrested by Interpol upon his return to Nigeria. The Lagos State Regulatory Authority intervened and took possession of the building, which will now be repurposed for housing Lagos residents.

“This individual has been blacklisted and sentenced to 10 years in prison,” Odunuga-Bakare stated. “After serving his sentence, he will no longer be allowed to practice real estate. We currently have over 100 similar cases at the High Court, and we are working hard to resolve these disputes and recover funds where possible.”

Odunuga-Bakare also noted that Lagos State’s Tenancy Law would be revised by the first quarter of 2025 to address concerns raised by residents, particularly regarding the high percentage charges by agents. She assured the public that agents charging more than the legal 10% fee for rent or 15% for sales would face legal action.

“The new laws will be fully enforced starting next year, and any agents caught violating these regulations will be sanctioned,” she confirmed.

She emphasized the need for stronger regulatory frameworks in the real estate industry to protect both public and private stakeholders. This includes strengthening the Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority (LASRERA) to ensure only qualified professionals engage in real estate transactions, promoting transparency, and restoring confidence in the sector.

Odunuga-Bakare also shared that the upcoming 5th Lagos Real Estate Marketplace Conference will focus on innovation in housing solutions, sustainable building practices, regulatory reforms, and investment opportunities. The event will feature discussions with real estate leaders, developers, investors, policymakers, and regulators.
