The lawmakers, under the leadership of Hon. Damilola Soneye, have expressed frustration over the refusal of eight individuals previously invited to respond to allegations of unauthorized sales of government-owned land at the Ibido Community Area within the Sagamu Estate. The accused Mr. Emmanuel Osho, Mr. Folabi Osho, Mr. Moshood Lawal Keji, Mr. Owodunni Sodipo, Mr. Adeyiga Jeje Lambo, Mr. Abiodun Soneye, Mr. Tikare, and Mr. Hammed Sodipe are now facing the possibility of arrest if they fail to appear before the committee by 12:00 noon on Thursday, June 26, 2025.

In a parallel case, the committee also summoned another group of nine individuals accused of land grabbing activities at the Housing Corporation’s Itanrin Estate in Ijebu-Ode. These individuals Mr. Sikiru Shittu Onakoya, Mr. Ismail Onakoya, Mr. Azeez Shittu Onakoya, Mr. Tunde Onakoya, Alhaji Olukorede Baoku, Mr. Adeleke Yekeen Abu, Alhaji Ikililu Alawiye, Chief Akeem Abajo, and Mr. Adegunwa Kunle Oluwatosin—must also appear before the Assembly by 1:00 pm on the same day.

The Committee has made it clear: should any of the summoned parties fail to appear, the Assembly will invoke its constitutional powers under Section 129 to issue arrest warrants. The lawmakers reaffirmed their commitment to protecting public assets and ensuring accountability in the administration of land matters across the state.

The Ogun State Housing Corporation (OGSHC) has issued a seven-day quit notice to individuals occupying its housing estates unlawfully, demanding that they vacate and remove their structures.

Wale Ojo, the General Manager of OGSHC, announced the directive during a development control and enforcement exercise at Idiroko Housing Estate in Ipokia Local Government Area. He stated that the notice is in accordance with Section 7 (1) of the Ogun State Housing Corporation Law 2006.

Ojo explained that the enforcement exercise aims to address unauthorized developments, ensure compliance with approved plans, and prevent the misuse of properties. He warned that failure to adhere to the notice would result in the demolition of the structures and legal action against the occupants, including charges for the removal of their illegal buildings.

Bunmi Oladeinde-Oluwakemi, the Director of Survey at OGSHC, emphasized that the agency’s responsibilities include cataloging illegal structures and verifying that developments meet the Corporation’s standards. She encouraged residents to consult with appropriate government authorities before purchasing property in the state.

In response, Babatunde Taiwo, Chairman of Ifeloju Community Development Association in Idiroko Ikolaje, pledged compliance with the directive on behalf of the residents and requested an extension of the notice period.
