A similar project will follow in Ibadan, Oyo State, underscoring the Fund’s commitment to providing dignified homes for vulnerable Nigerians.

The widow-focused developments form part of FHFL’s broader social housing agenda, designed to uplift low-income households and promote equitable access to housing across the country.

According to the Fund, the initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s vision for inclusive housing development, particularly by addressing the barriers widows often face in property ownership. The projects aim not only to provide affordable homes but also to restore dignity, stability, and economic opportunity for women-led families.

Developed under FHFL’s Social Housing Scheme, the units are designed to enhance living standards and strengthen community resilience-creating safer, more sustainable environments for beneficiaries.

FHFL Expands Housing Drive with Skills Empowerment Initiative

Beyond housing delivery, FHFL is also investing in human capital development through its ongoing collaboration with the Construction Skills Training and Empowerment Project (C-STEMP) and the African Development Bank (AfDB). The partnership focuses on equipping artisans and young Nigerians with technical skills essential for the construction industry.

The initiative is expected to improve the quality, efficiency, and pace of housing delivery nationwide while fostering self-reliance and job creation within the local construction ecosystem.

Through these twin pillars—housing and empowerment—FHFL continues to position itself as a central driver in Nigeria’s quest for sustainable and inclusive national development.
