The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has commenced the development of a new housing estate in Abuja as part of ongoing efforts to reduce Nigeria’s housing deficit and expand access to affordable homes. The project is being developed in partnership with Green Pasture Homes Limited and aligns with the Federal Government’s housing delivery agenda.

The development, known as the FHA Green City Estate, is located in the Wasa District along the Apo-Wasa corridor in the Federal Capital Territory. The estate will comprise more than 200 residential units, including apartments and terrace duplexes designed to meet the needs of different categories of homebuyers and investors.

FHA officials said the project goes beyond providing shelter and is expected to stimulate economic activities and create employment opportunities for engineers, architects, artisans, suppliers, and other professionals involved in the construction value chain. The authority added that strategic partnerships with private developers remain essential to accelerating housing delivery across the country.

According to the authority, the project forms part of broader plans to establish a stronger presence nationwide and deepen access to quality and affordable housing. FHA disclosed that it has secured land in multiple states and has already commenced housing projects in several locations as part of its expansion drive.

The developer said the estate is designed to provide a secure and sustainable residential community, taking advantage of the rapid infrastructure growth within the Apo-Wasa axis. The area has increasingly attracted investment interest due to expanding road networks and rising residential demand.
