Advancing Affordable Housing and Urban Development
This partnership is a crucial step in tackling Nigeria’s housing deficit and fostering sustainable urban development. It will leverage ShafDB’s expertise in housing finance, advisory services, and technical assistance to deliver affordable, decent, and sustainable housing for Nigerians.

ShafDB will support the Ministry in conducting a comprehensive assessment of Nigeria’s housing market using its VIRAL model, leading to the development of a Country Housing Deficit Reduction Strategy Paper (CHUPS).

Public-Private Partnerships for Housing Transformation
Under the agreement, ShafDB will propose three PPP transaction models to the Ministry, focusing on:

Affordable housing development for low-income households.
Urban renewal programs, including the reconstruction of old estates and slum redevelopment.
Land development for large-scale housing projects.
ShafDB will also assist in selecting strategic private sector partners to finance, construct, and maintain large-scale affordable housing projects.

Capacity Building and Sustainable Housing Finance
The partnership includes training programs, policy development, and capacity-building initiatives to enhance the Ministry’s ability to address housing challenges. Additionally, ShafDB will help structure PPP-based transaction models to facilitate the mass production of affordable housing.

Aligning with Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Agenda
Honorable Minister Arc. Ahmed Musa Dangiwa emphasized the significance of the partnership, stating:

“This collaboration with Shelter Afrique Development Bank represents a key moment in our efforts to address Nigeria’s housing challenges.”

ShafDB CEO Mr. Thierno Habib Hann reaffirmed the bank’s commitment, saying:

“We are committed to supporting Nigeria in achieving its housing and urban development goals.”

The signing ceremony will take place at the Renewed Hope Housing PPP Summit, bringing together public and private sector leaders to discuss innovative solutions for Nigeria’s housing deficit.
