The has approved ₦310.27 billion for housing, roads, and other critical infrastructure projects aimed at accelerating development across the state.
Massive investment in housing sector
The approval was granted by the State Executive Council (EXCO) during its 38th meeting held at the Government House in .
Briefing journalists, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, , said the housing sector received the largest share, with ₦113.19 billion allocated for the construction of a 480-unit mass housing project named “Gida Gida Mega City” at Rijiyar Gwan-Gwan.
Key road and infrastructure projects
In the works sector, the council approved ₦13.2 billion for 2026 constituency projects and ₦2.91 billion for the reconstruction of major roads in Nassarawa Local Government Area.
Additional approvals include ₦1.66 billion for the rehabilitation of key road networks and ₦184.35 million for the construction of the Ladanai road network.
Support for energy and security infrastructure
The council also approved ₦483.6 million for additional works at the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy, alongside ₦178.1 million for security facilities, fencing, and solar streetlights at the historic .
Rural development and compensation projects
Under rural development, ₦1.5 billion was approved for special intervention projects, while over ₦1 billion will fund feeder road construction across several local government areas.
The council also earmarked ₦1.7 billion for compensation related to the 330KVA transmission line project and ₦311.38 million for properties affected by the Kano Line Road project.
Boost for social sectors
Other approvals cover education, healthcare, environment, and social welfare, including school rehabilitation, medical equipment procurement, drainage construction, and Ramadan feeding programmes.
Waiya noted that the approvals reflect the government’s commitment to bridging infrastructure gaps, stimulating economic growth, and improving the quality of life for residents.
