Three Homeless Men Shot Dead While Sleeping at Lagos Bus Stop

Three homeless men have been shot dead while sleeping at the Post Office Bus Stop on Adeola Odeku Street in the Victoria Island area of Lagos State.

The incident reportedly happened on Sunday, November 1, 2026. The victims were among about 10 homeless people who regularly slept at the bus stop.

According to reports, two men riding power bikes arrived at the location and attacked the victims while they were sleeping.

A police source said officers were alerted by a concerned member of the public on Sunday morning. An anti-crime patrol team was sent to the scene, where they found the three men lying in pools of blood.

Further information from a source familiar with the incident indicated that CCTV footage captured the attack. The footage reportedly showed two men arriving on power bikes, each carrying a white box, before parking across the road and approaching the bus stop.

The attackers were said to have checked the faces of some of the people sleeping there before approaching their targets and shooting them. The victims also reportedly suffered machete wounds.

One of the men reportedly pleaded with the attackers to spare his life and settle their differences peacefully, but he was still killed.

Further findings revealed that the three victims were relatively new to the area, having recently joined other homeless people who regularly slept at the bus stop.

Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said the bodies had been evacuated and taken to the Lagos State Government’s Mainland Hospital in Yaba for autopsy.

She added that preliminary investigations were ongoing to identify the victims, locate their families and track down those responsible for the killings.

As of the time of the report, the identities of the victims and the motive behind the attack had not been established.
