Emergency responders are battling a major fire outbreak at the Great Nigeria Insurance House, a 22-storey building on Martins Street, Lagos Island.
The fire reportedly started around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday and spread from the fourth floor to other levels of the building, which is mainly used as a warehouse for clothing materials.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said rescue and firefighting operations are ongoing, with the cause of the fire yet to be determined.
While initial reports indicated that the number of casualties could not be confirmed, the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service later stated that no casualties have been recorded as of the latest update.
