The Federal Republic of Nigeria has congratulated the Government and people of the State of Qatar on the occasion of their Independence Anniversary.
In a goodwill message, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, conveyed Nigeria’s warm felicitations to His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
Ambassador Tuggar described the anniversary as a testament to the strength, resilience, and unity of the Qatari people in their pursuit of sovereignty, progress, and prosperity. He noted that Nigeria joins Qatar in celebrating this historic occasion while reaffirming its commitment to mutual respect, cooperation, and global partnership.
Nigeria and Qatar, he said, share longstanding and friendly relations, strengthened through collaboration in key sectors including trade, transportation, education, energy, and security. Both countries also cooperate at multilateral levels such as the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), working together to promote peace, development, and global security.
The Minister further reiterated Nigeria’s readiness to deepen these valued ties and explore new areas of cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations.
“Nigeria once again extends its warmest felicitations to the Government and people of Qatar, with best wishes for peace, prosperity, and national advancement,” the statement concluded.
