The Ogun State Government has urged motorists and residents to remain calm as work continues on the Abeokuta–Sango Ota Road.
Commissioner for Works, Ade Akinsanya, said in a statement that ongoing earthworks and rainfall have slowed progress, especially around the Ewekoro axis, where concrete pavement is being cast and traffic diversions are in place.
He noted that although the road is federal, the state took over reconstruction to ease commuters’ hardship and improve safety.
“Despite the rains, we’re committed to completing the project in record time,” Akinsanya said.
The 18-month project, flagged off by Governor Dapo Abiodun in August 2024, targets durable, high-quality infrastructure and reduced travel time.
