President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to attend the 8th edition of the Nigeria Diaspora Investment Summit (NDIS) as the Special Guest of Honour, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to harnessing the potential of Nigerians in the diaspora for national development.
The annual summit, organised by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), will be held from November 11 to 13, 2025, in Abuja. The announcement was made on Friday by NiDCOM Chairman and CEO, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, during a press briefing in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to Dabiri-Erewa, the summit has evolved into a strategic platform connecting diaspora investors, entrepreneurs, government officials, and business leaders with opportunities across key sectors of the Nigerian economy — including real estate, healthcare, agriculture, ICT, manufacturing, energy, and the creative industries.
Since its inception in 2018, the NDIS has attracted growing participation and tangible investment outcomes. The 2024 edition alone recorded ₦673 million worth of investment deals across multiple sectors, featuring 56 investment pitches and over 1,500 participants—comprising 236 investors, 1,197 business owners, and 168 government representatives.
“This Summit has become a credible platform that continues to drive diaspora confidence and participation in Nigeria’s development story,” Dabiri-Erewa said. “We are honoured to have His Excellency, President Bola Tinubu, once again lead the conversation as Special Guest of Honour.”
She also noted that the Summit’s local impact extends beyond investment deals, contributing over ₦500 million to Nigeria’s economy through services sourced from local SMEs and creatives during past editions.
The 2025 theme, “Fast-Tracking Regional and National Development by Mobilising Diaspora Investment,” underscores NiDCOM’s focus on leveraging diaspora capital, skills, and innovation to drive inclusive economic growth.
This year’s discussions will spotlight transformative sectors including finance and fintech, ICT, agribusiness, healthcare, education, sports, entertainment, real estate, infrastructure, manufacturing, and energy.
Registration for participants is currently open via the official NDIS website: www.ndisng.com.
