President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received praise for what has been described as a deliberate and strategic inclusion of young Nigerians in governance, with recent appointments underscoring his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and merit-based leadership.

Speaking in response to the appointment of Ambassador Solomon Adodo, President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), to the board of the North Central Development Commission, Mr. Samson Okpe, Managing Director of Somi Solar and Electricals Limited, commended the president for prioritizing competence over political patronage.

According to Okpe, Adodo’s inclusion is a recognition of his consistent grassroots engagement, constructive approach to national policy, and his record of mobilizing young Nigerians to support developmental initiatives.

“This appointment is a clear demonstration that under President Tinubu, merit and youth involvement are key pillars of governance. It signals a shift from the era of leadership recycling to one of genuine inclusion and progress,” Okpe said in a statement issued in Abuja.

He emphasized that the current administration has created opportunities for young professionals and advocates across ministries, agencies, and commissions, marking a significant departure from past practices. Okpe also urged Nigerian youths to remain engaged, support the administration’s policies, and resist divisive political tactics.

With Adodo’s new role, the Tinubu administration reinforces its message that youth leadership is not a distant ideal but a present-day reality, he added.
