President Bola Tinubu has emphasized the Federal Government’s ongoing commitment to developing infrastructure as a foundation for Nigeria’s long-term economic advancement.
Speaking in Lagos during the inauguration of several strategic road projects, Tinubu highlighted the importance of transport infrastructure in driving national competitiveness, trade, and job creation. The commissioned projects include the access road to the Lekki Deep Sea Port and major corridors in Northern Nigeria, such as the Kano–Kongolam Road (Section II), and the Yakasai–Zalli Road.
“These are not just roads—they represent vital investments in mobility, commerce, and national development,” Tinubu stated. “We are determined to realign our financial priorities to support sustainable infrastructure growth.”
The president praised Minister of Works, David Umahi, for his efforts in reengineering project scopes to deliver better outcomes. He encouraged Umahi to remain focused despite criticism, assuring continued support for initiatives that align with the administration’s Renewed Hope agenda.
“As a government, we are committed to laying a strong foundation for industrialization and prosperity through durable infrastructure,” Tinubu added. “Our vision is clear—enhanced connectivity, inclusive development, and a stronger economy.”
New projects were also flagged off during the event, aimed at accelerating regional integration and expanding access for agriculture and trade across the country.
