President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has embarked on a working visit to Nasarawa State, where he officially commissioned a series of flagship infrastructure projects executed by Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration, marking a significant boost to the state’s development agenda.
Among the key projects unveiled was the ₦16 billion Lafia Flyover and Underpass — a major urban mobility upgrade aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving road safety in the state capital. The flyover, the first of its kind in the region, is expected to facilitate smoother vehicular movement and support economic growth in Lafia and surrounding communities.
The President also inaugurated the newly completed ultra-modern Nasarawa State Secretariat, a multi-million naira facility designed to enhance public service efficiency by centralizing government ministries and agencies. Located along Shendam Road, the state-of-the-art complex is seen as a cornerstone of Governor Sule’s administrative reforms.
Other projects commissioned include the Shendam Dual Carriageway, which links key parts of Lafia to emerging commercial zones, and a fleet of agricultural tractors to strengthen mechanized farming efforts in the state.
President Tinubu, accompanied by senior federal and state officials as well as members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), praised Governor Sule for his commitment to infrastructure-led development and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s support for subnational growth initiatives.
“As we commission these projects, we are reminded of the transformative power of purposeful leadership and the critical role states play in our national development drive,” Tinubu said.
Following the commissioning ceremonies, the President paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage (rtd), where he was received by traditional leaders and residents who lauded the administration’s continued engagement with grassroots communities.
The visit concluded with a town hall meeting at the Aliyu Akwe Doma Banquet Hall, where the President met with stakeholders to discuss local challenges, policy priorities, and opportunities for collaboration in Nasarawa’s ongoing transformation.
The events marked a high point in Governor Sule’s administration, reinforcing his infrastructure agenda and aligning the state’s development vision with national objectives under the Renewed Hope initiative.
