A powerful explosion rocked the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) factory in Kaduna on Saturday, killing one person and leaving several others injured.
The blast, which occurred in the morning, was reportedly heard across several parts of Kaduna metropolis and neighboring communities, causing panic among residents.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that the injured were immediately evacuated to nearby medical facilities, including the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna, for treatment.
“The injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals, including the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna,” a source said.
Authorities say the exact cause of the explosion is yet to be determined. “Details of the incident are still emerging, and the cause of the explosion is yet to be determined. Further investigations are needed to determine the cause of the blast and the extent of the damage,” the source added.
