President is set to embark on a historic state visit to the , where he is expected to sign key agreements covering trade, investment, and defence cooperation.
According to the presidency, Tinubu will be hosted by and at , marking the first state visit by a Nigerian leader to the UK in 37 years.
The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and deepening collaboration between both countries.
Key agreements and engagements
During the trip, Tinubu is expected to meet with UK Prime Minister at , where several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed.
Key sectors targeted include trade, investment, defence, and cultural exchange.
Major financing deal for ports
The President will also witness the signing of a £746 million financing agreement involving the Nigerian Ports Authority and UK Export Finance.
The deal is expected to support the rehabilitation of major infrastructure, including the and .
Cultural diplomacy and business ties
Beyond official meetings, Tinubu will attend a Nigerian Modernism exhibition showcasing the country’s arts and culture, as well as engage with business leaders and members of the Nigerian diaspora in the UK.
A state banquet will also be hosted in honour of the President and his delegation.
