Suspected gunmen have attacked a Police Mobile Force (PMF) camp in Kwara State, killing at least three officers and leaving two others injured.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday in Tenebo community, located in Kaiama Local Government Area, triggering panic among residents.
Residents Flee as Attackers Overrun Camp
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the attackers stormed the community around 1:00 a.m., firing heavily and overwhelming security personnel stationed at the camp.
A resident, Suleiman Issa, described the situation as chaotic and terrifying.
According to him, armed men invaded the area in large numbers, leading to multiple casualties and forcing villagers to flee for safety.
Police Confirm Incident
The spokesperson of the Kwara State Police Command, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the attack.
She stated that authorities are gathering more details and assured that further updates would be provided as investigations continue.
