The Lagos State Government has called on residents of its housing estates, particularly in the Ikorodu area, to take active roles in fostering sustainable and livable communities through collaboration and shared responsibility.

This appeal was made during a residents’ forum held at the Ayangule Jubilee Housing Estate, hosted by the Ministry of Housing to deepen engagement on estate management, infrastructure upkeep, and environmental best practices.

Speaking on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Abdulhafis Toriola, the Director of the Estate Department, Mrs. Olukemi Fosudo, emphasized the importance of collective action in maintaining estate standards. She encouraged residents to submit complaints or suggestions via QR codes, social media platforms, or written letters to improve communication with the Ministry.

“This initiative supports the THEMES+ development agenda, which emphasizes inclusivity and quality of life through improved infrastructure,” Fosudo stated.

Residents were urged to pay service charges promptly to ensure uninterrupted maintenance services and to embrace peaceful coexistence regardless of background. Fosudo reiterated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to delivering sustainable housing with modern amenities comparable to global standards.

Chairman of the Ayangule Jubilee Housing Estate Residents Association, Mr. Peter Esene, commended the government for its outreach and commitment to sustainable urban development, pledging residents’ support toward a cleaner and more orderly living environment.
