Rescue operations are still underway following Monday’s building collapse at 54 Cole Street, Cemetery Bus Stop, Oyingbo, Lagos, where 15 people were pulled out alive from the rubble.
According to the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, the two-storey structure had shown visible signs of distress before it gave way around midnight. Those rescued including seven men, four women, and four children were taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Meta, and the General Hospital, Odan, for treatment.
Controller General of the agency, Margaret Adeseye, confirmed that emergency teams from the Fire Service and LASEMA are still searching for possible survivors. The cause of the collapse remains under investigation by state officials.
