The House of Representatives has raised alarm over a terrorist threat to bomb the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.
Chairman of the House Committee on Internal Security, Hon. Garba Ibrahim Muhammad, disclosed this during a public hearing on a bill to establish a Legislative Security Directorate.
Muhammad said intelligence reports show that the National Assembly has become a target for criminal and terrorist attacks, citing frequent cases of theft, fake IDs, and unauthorised access.
He warned that failure to act could disrupt legislative activities and threaten national stability, stressing that the new security directorate would help strengthen internal protection and adopt global best practices in parliamentary security.
