Ogun State Approves 35 New Duplexes to Tackle Housing Needs in Abeokuta and Beyond

Governor Dapo Abiodun-led Executive Council greenlights strategic housing projects across key urban areas in Ogun State.

The Ogun State Executive Council has approved the construction of 35 new duplex housing units across Abeokuta to address the state’s growing housing demand.

The decision, taken at the newly commissioned Exco Chamber in the Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, forms part of a broader initiative to boost urban living standards and support the state’s expanding industrial base.

The 26 duplexes at the Ogun State Housing Corporation Office, Ibara, include:

  1. 12 five-bedroom detached duplexes with two-room attached boys’ quarters
  2. 14 four-bedroom semi-detached duplexes with one-room attached boys’ quarters
  3. Additionally, nine duplexes at the HID Estate, Iseya Court, Obasanjo Hilltop include:
  4. Five four-bedroom detached duplexes with boys’ quarters
  5. Four four-bedroom semi-detached duplexes

Governor Dapo Abiodun emphasized that these housing projects aim to improve the quality of life for residents, provide affordable and spacious homes, and support Ogun State’s ongoing urban development plans.

The council also approved complementary road infrastructure to enhance accessibility to the new housing estates.
