Africa’s richest man and President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has assured Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma that his conglomerate is ready to become one of the biggest investors in the state.

Dangote made the commitment on Thursday during the opening session of the Imo Economic Summit 2025 held in Owerri.

Describing Uzodimma as a long-time friend, the industrialist said he was impressed with the enabling environment created by the governor to attract investors.

“We will be one of your biggest investors in Imo. So, please tell me the area to invest and we will invest,” Dangote declared.

He urged Nigerian entrepreneurs to embrace local investment, stressing that foreign investors typically rely on the confidence of domestic investors before committing funds.

“What attracts foreign investors is a domestic investor. Africa has about 30 percent of the world’s minerals. We are blessed,” he stated.

Dangote also reaffirmed that the Dangote Refinery is set to reach a capacity of 1.4 million barrels per day, the highest output for a single refinery in the world.
