President Bola Tinubu has authorized a massive infrastructure intervention package totaling approximately N883 billion for federal road and bridge projects across Kwara State. The extensive funding approvals come on the heels of strategic and sustained lobbying efforts by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to attract critical socio-economic developments to the North Central region.

The financial centerpiece of this intervention is the N276 billion dualization of the Ilorin–Ogbomoso Road, which serves as a vital transit corridor connecting Kwara and Oyo states. This major expansion is projected to significantly alleviate gridlock, reduce travel times, enhance commuter safety, and stimulate commercial trade along one of the most high-traffic routes in the zone.

Additionally, the President sanctioned N265 billion for the complete reconstruction of the cross-regional Iseyin–Eruwa–Agbesi Road. Another N217 billion has been earmarked to dualize the old road alignment spanning from Ijaye through the Federal Government College to Ilorin, including a connecting spur to Akinmorin.

Further funding includes N104 billion dedicated to rehabilitating Sections 1 and 2 of the long-neglected Ilorin–Omorin–Egbe–Kabba–Obajana Road linking Kwara to Kogi State, which has required severe structural repairs for nearly a decade. Finally, to tackle internal municipal gridlock within the state capital, a specialized N21 billion fund was approved to build a modern flyover at the highly congested Oko-Olowo Junction.
