Zenith Bank Plc has once again been recognized as a leading financial institution, clinching the title of “Best Bank in Nigeria” at the 2025 Global Finance Best Banks Awards. This marks the fifth time in six years the bank has received this distinction, reinforcing its consistent performance and leadership in Nigeria’s banking sector.

The recognition came as part of Global Finance magazine’s 32nd annual awards, which highlighted top-performing banks across 36 African countries. Selections were based on both measurable data and informed evaluations, following consultations with financial executives, analysts, and banking experts around the world.

In determining the winners, Global Finance considered a range of criteria, including asset growth, profitability, strategic partnerships, and product innovation. Subjective input from industry insiders also helped identify institutions demonstrating long-term stability and adaptability in a changing financial landscape.

She credited the bank’s continued success to the combined efforts of its staff, customers, and leadership, acknowledging the role of Founder and Chairman Jim Ovia in shaping the institution’s legacy.

Publisher and editorial director of Global Finance, Joseph D. Giarraputo, noted that the global banking sector is being reshaped by technology, with artificial intelligence playing a key role in improving services and customer experience. He said the 2025 awards recognize banks that have managed to balance innovation, resilience, and client trust amid an evolving economic landscape.

The Global Finance Best Bank Awards are regarded as a leading benchmark of excellence in international banking, with institutions honored across 150 countries and territories each year.
