Federal Government Kickstarts Repairs on 320 Routes to Fortify National Security

In a momentous development for the nation, Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, unveiled a comprehensive plan to rejuvenate over 320 roads across the country.

The revelation came to light during a pivotal meeting where Umahi, alongside Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubarkar, and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, gathered to discuss a strategic collaboration aimed at bolstering internal security through a transformative overhaul of the nation’s road infrastructure.

Umahi expressed gratitude for the support from the public and commended the President’s vision. He articulated the multifaceted impact of road improvements, asserting, “Road is everything.” By enhancing the roads, the government aims to not only uplift security but also catalyze advancements in agriculture, education, commerce, and overall societal well-being.

“The main focus of Mr. President,” Umahi emphasized, “is the interstate routes linked to security operations nationwide, palliative jobs, and roads connected to markets, industries, and factories.” He pledged to expedite the President’s mandate, ensuring that the desired outcomes in road infrastructure are achieved promptly.

Highlighting the profound impact of these efforts, Umahi underscored that the road upgrades would not only fortify internal security but also play a pivotal role in augmenting military operations throughout Nigeria.

Lagbaja expressed satisfaction with the Minister of Works’ commitment, stating, “The Minister has made promises, and we look forward to witnessing the activities of contractors and other agents focusing in this direction in the field, with the full support of the military.”
