Minister of Works Disappointed with Progress on Akure-Ikere-Ado Road Construction

The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, voiced his disappointment regarding the current status of the ongoing construction of the Akure-Ikere-Ado road.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the level of work completed thus far, Umahi revealed that the contractor responsible for the project has been summoned for further instructions.

Umahi emphasized the federal government’s commitment to accelerating the construction and rehabilitation of federal roads in the affected states.

Highlighting the critical role these roads play in connecting different parts of the country, he pledged his ministry’s dedication to ensuring the timely completion of these projects to stimulate economic growth.

Assuring residents of the states, Umahi reaffirmed the Federal Government’s unwavering dedication to improving road infrastructure nationwide.

He underscored the government’s determination to intensify efforts to ensure the projects are completed according to schedule.

“These roads serve as vital arteries for transporting a significant amount of commercial produce from Benin to Lokoja and the southern region of the country.

We have assessed the situation and will return with full attention from my team,” Umahi stated.
