Governor Bago reaffirms commitment to end insecurity in Niger

Niger State Governor, Umar Bago, has reaffirmed his commitment to ending the security challenges confronting the state.

Bago stated this during the traditional Mini Durbar held at the Palace of the Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, Muhammad Barau Mu’azu II, to mark this year’s Eid-El-Fitr celebration.

The Governor in a statement by his chief press secretary,Bologi Ibrahim, said his administration is committed to taking proactive steps by collaborating with conventional and non-conventional security agents to contain banditry and other forms of terrorist activities in the state, which have continued to pose a threat to the lives of residents.

He also disclosed that plans are underway to repair and reconstruct hospitals in Kontagora to provide healthcare services to the people.

While highlighting numerous measures the State Government has devised to tackle poverty in the state, Governor Bago said agriculture remains key in improving the economy hence, his administration is well on course in its agricultural revolution.

Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, Muhammad Barau Mu’azu II, in his address, called on his subjects to remain law-abiding and continue to live in peace with one another for the growth and development of the state.

He thanked Governor Bago for his efforts aimed at developing Kontagora Emirates and reassured him of continued support.

The Governor was presented with gifts by the Sarkin Sudan as a mark of honor and respect.
