The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Lagos State Branch, has sworn in Tosin Kadiri as its new chairman, marking the beginning of what stakeholders describe as a new era for the institution. The inauguration ceremony, held at the Muson Centre in Victoria Island, drew leading figures in the real estate sector who commended Kadiri’s appointment as a milestone rooted in hard work and integrity.

Speaking at the event, Chairman of Adron Group, Adetola Emmanuelking, praised Kadiri’s track record and leadership qualities, describing his appointment as the 29th chairman as a testament to the trust and respect of his colleagues. “I reaffirm my support for this new administration to work together to uplift the profession, strengthen the institution, and build a legacy of value, impact, and progress. May your tenure be remembered for growth, bold leadership, and lasting transformation,” he said.

Outgoing chairman, Gbenga Ismail, reflected on his two-year tenure with a sense of fulfillment despite the challenges of leadership. “I knew it would be a demanding journey, and it was. Leadership required more than intention; it demanded clarity, commitment, and continuous sacrifice. It meant navigating high expectations, managing competing interests, and keeping our branch united. While I may have held the title of chairman, the real credit belongs to all of you, for your support, ideas, and unwavering trust,” he stated.

In his acceptance speech, Kadiri emphasized the vital role of estate surveyors and valuers in driving economic growth and shaping sustainable urban development in Lagos and across Nigeria. “Our work directly impacts lives, from providing shelter to facilitating commerce, from advising governments and investors to guiding sustainable growth. This responsibility demands integrity, technical competence, and adherence to the highest ethical standards,” he said. He outlined a vision built on six key pillars—member engagement, professional development, partnerships, advocacy, welfare, and youth empowerment—pledging to position the Lagos chapter as a leader in innovation, including in emerging areas such as PropTech and green buildings.
