The Lagos State Ministry of Housing has urged allottees of state-owned housing estates to adhere to allocation rules and contribute to a sustainable and well-maintained living environment.
The appeal was made by Commissioner for Housing, Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, during a monthly stakeholders’ meeting with residents in the Ikorodu Division, held at Oba Adegboruwa Housing Estate, Igbogbo.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Abdulhafiz Toriola, the Commissioner emphasized the need for resident feedback on estate priorities and the development of solutions to enhance quality of life and infrastructure in the estates.
“There are rules and regulations everywhere. Within government estates, residents must comply with estate rules to sustain these communities,” Akinderu-Fatai stated, stressing collaborative maintenance and ownership responsibility.
The Director of the Estate Department, Mrs. Olukemi Fosudo, added that such forums foster dialogue between residents, facility managers, and government officials, promoting compliance and smooth estate management.
