Close Call in Ibadan: Two Pulled Alive From Collapsed Building

There was panic in Ibadan on Tuesday afternoon after a building under construction collapsed at Ruby’s Court Estate, located behind Saint Anne’s School in the Olorunsogo area of Molete.


Fire Services Rush to the Rescue

The Oyo State Fire Services Agency responded swiftly after receiving a distress call at exactly 1:53 PM, according to the agency’s General Manager, Akinyemi Akinyinka.

Led by ACFS Adekola (Mrs), fire officials arrived quickly at the scene and began rescue operations.

Two Trapped, Both Rescued Alive

When the team reached the site, they found that a one-storey building had crumbled, leaving two men trapped under the debris.

“Both were rescued alive,” Akinyinka confirmed.
“One of them, who was seriously injured, was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Though the immediate crisis has been averted, questions remain about the cause of the collapse, as well as the safety of the construction process. Officials are expected to inspect the site further.
