Passport Fees in Nigeria Set to Double from September 1

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a significant increase in the cost of obtaining an international passport, with the new rates scheduled to take effect from September 1, 2025.

According to the revised charges, the fee for a 32-page passport with a five-year validity period will now be ₦100,000, up from the previous ₦50,000. Likewise, the 64-page passport with a 10-year validity will rise from ₦100,000 to ₦200,000.

The adjustment applies nationwide and affects both fresh applications and renewals. The NIS is expected to release more details regarding the implementation in the coming days.
