NURTW Chairman, Francis Arhiyor, says poor road conditions across Nigeria are fueling robbery and kidnapping.

He noted that criminals exploit failed highways to attack motorists and urged the Federal Government to fix the East-West road urgently.

Arhiyor praised Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for starting the reconstruction of the Warri–Sapele–Benin road, calling it “a big relief” for drivers and commuters.

He appealed for similar attention to the Benin By-Pass, Benin–Akwa Ibom, and Warri–Port Harcourt sections of the highway.
