The Benue State Government has announced a strategic partnership with the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) to deliver affordable housing solutions to its residents.
This collaboration, aimed at addressing the housing deficit in the state, was revealed during a meeting between Governor Hyacinth Alia and a team from the FHA, led by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, at the new Banquet Hall of the Benue State Government House in Makurdi.
Governor Alia expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that his administration has embraced the offer from the FHA and is committed to working closely with them to develop affordable housing projects across the state. He emphasized that this initiative is in line with his administration’s vision to create a new Benue that provides quality living standards for all its residents.

During the meeting, Governor Alia highlighted some of his administration’s achievements in infrastructure development, including the construction of underpasses at High Level roundabout Makurdi and in Gboko, extensive road construction in Makurdi and other towns, installation of solar-powered street lights, and the introduction of 100 new buses at the Benue Links Transport Company. He also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for agreeing to construct a flyover at the Wurukum roundabout, among other federal government interventions.

Governor Alia assured the Federal Housing Authority of the state’s commitment to providing land and any other support necessary for the success of the affordable housing initiative. In response, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo stated that the FHA’s new policy involves consulting with all state governors to implement end-user initiatives for housing. He emphasized the importance of governors’ collaboration in providing land and supporting the Authority for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in Housing.
The partnership between the Benue State Government and the FHA is expected to result in the development of affordable housing projects that will significantly impact the lives of residents, providing them with access to decent and affordable housing options.
