MBAN gets new Executive Secretary

The Mortgage Banking Association of Nigeria (MBAN) has unveiled Dr Adedeji AJADI as its New Executive Secretary/CEO-Designate with effect from November 1, 2023. The appointment comes on the heels of the Pioneer Executive Secretary/ CEO Mr. Kayode OMOTOSO, who would be proceeding on retirement from December 31, 2023 after having dedicated slightly over two decades to the Organic Development of the Association.

A distinguished Fellow of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and The Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Dr. Ajadi is also an Associate of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK, and a Member of The Association of Certified International Investment Analysts. His academic credentials include bachelor’s degrees in Applied Accounting and Agric Extension & Rural Sociology, MSc in Finance & Investment, and Agric Economics, and a Ph.D. in Finance.

His dedication to excellence has earned him prestigious awards, including the Chevening Scholarship from the UK government, CISI Top Postgraduate Award, and the Excellent Leadership Award from the CIS.

Bringing over three decades of rich professional experience to the helm, Dr. Ajadi’s journey is a tapestry of roles that have molded his versatile skill set. His career began in 1994 at the Excel Professional Centre, Ibadan, where he served as Registrar and Head of Administration while concurrently involved in enlightening eager minds as a Lecturer. His path then led him through roles such as Audit Officer at Aneni Dairo and Co., where he fine-tuned his financial acumen, and a transformative tenure at Chartered Bank Plc, marked by the establishment of an award-winning branch in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Dr. Ajadi’s foray into management consulting at B. Adedipe Associates Limited and RMS Investment Trust Limited from 2005 to 2006 further enriched his strategic insights. His commitment to excellence caught the attention of The Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, where, as Director/Head of Education and Training from 2010, he elevated examination and training standards. This journey culminated in his role as Acting Registrar and CEO in 2013 and eventual confirmation in 2014, a position he held with distinction for seven years.

As Dr. Adedeji Ajadi assumes the helms of affairs fully at MBAN from January 02, 2024, the Mortgage Banking Sub-Sector anticipates a future that would be defined by innovation, strategic growth, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. The Association and its Stakeholders stand poised for a transformative journey and a persistent drive to further catalyze the Mortgage Banking Sub-Sector in Nigeria.
